Qodri Santosa, MSi Med, Sp A berhasil meraih gelar Doktor di Universitas Diponegoro, Selasa 20 Desember 2016.  Dr.dr. Qodri Santosa berhasil mempertahankan desertasinya yang berjudul “Peranan Hepsidin, IL-6, dan STfR Pada Ibu Hamil Trimester III Serta Waktu Penjepitan Tali Pusat Terhadap Status Besi Bayi : Sebuah Kajian pencegahan Defisiensi Besi pada Bayi Baru Lahir” di hadapan 9 orang dewan penguji di Aula Lantai 2 Gedung Pascasarjana UNDIP dengan Tim Promotor Prof. Dr. dr. Ag Soemantri, Sp.A (K) sebagai Promotor, Prof. Dr. dr. Soeharyo Hadisaputro,Sp.PD (KPTI) Ko Promotor I dan Prof dr. Ariawan Soejoenoes, Sp OG (K) Ko Promotor II.
Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan hubungan antara hepsidin, IL-6 dan sTfR ibu hamil aterm trisemester III, serta pengaruh penjepitan tali pusat tunda 3 menit terhadap status besi bayi baru lahir. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, hasil yang didapatkan adalah Rerata geometri sTfR bayi baru lahir tertinggi (atau status besi terendah), berada pada kelompok ibu denganhepsin quartile tertinggi (IV) dengan p=0,001. Jumlah eritrosit, Hb dan Ht bayi bau lahir lebih rendaah pada kelompok ibu dengan IL-6 quartile tertinggi (IV) dibandingkan dengan quartile I-III (p<0,05). Rerata SI bayibaru lahir pada kelompok ibu dengan sTfR <28,1 nmol/L lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok ≥28,1 nmol/L (p=0,33). Rerata selisih eritrosit, Hb dan Ht bayi dikurangi tali pusat )delta eritrosit, delta Hb, dan delta Ht) lebih besar pada kelompok penjempitan tali pusat 3 menit dibandingkan ≤ 20 detik (p<0,05). Bayi yang dilahirkan dari ibu dengan kenaikan berat selama kehamilan yang sesuai dengan rekomendasi IOM, memiliki rerata jumlah eritrosit, Hb dan Ht yang lebih tinggi.

 
Dr.dr. Qodri Santosa, MSi Med.,Sp A berharap dari penelitian ini “Kosentrasi hepsiden,IL-6 dan sTfR ibu hamil T-III (aterm) yang tinggi, maka bayinya mempunyai status besi yang lebih rendah. Penjepitan tali pusat tunda (3 menit) aman dan menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah eritrosit, kadar Hb dan Ht tali pusat (fetus)-bayi baru lahir yang lebih tinggi. Simpulan tambahan, kenaikan berat badan ibu selama kehamilan yang sesuai dengan rekomendasi IOM, bayinya memiliki status besi yang lebih tinggi” lanjutnya.
